Type 2 Immune system

I’m suffering with really bad cold, throat, chest symptoms for the second time in 2 months. My most recent HbA1c was 7.8 (had been 9.5 a few months ago) is this related to my diabetes type 2?

Are you asking if T2 can make you more at risk of catching colds?
If so, I don't think so.
T1 is immune system related.

Oh, and that reduction in HbA1c looks impressive.
Whatever you are doing, do it a bit harder!!
 
I know being a diabetic can make it harder to fight off infections. If you have a high temperature along with all your other symptoms, it might be worth contacting your doctor or nurse prescriber.

Because I eat low carb , I supplement with vitamin C every day. I think it helps, so not directly related to my t2
 
Illness makes it harder to manage diabetes by pushing BG up.
High BG affects our body's ability to heal.

But, in my experience and from the research I have done, well managed diabetes does not make you more likely to get ill. Well managed diabetes does NOT make it harder to fight off infections.
My personal experience is with Type 1 which, whilst being an autoimmune condition, does not make me immuno compromised. It does not affect my immune system's ability to fight viruses.
 
As a T2, I have found similarly. For instance, the covid I had when an undiagnosed T2 was the same in symptoms and recovery rate as the covid I had as a T2 with non-diabetic BG appx 18 months later. BUT as we always say - we are all different.
