I mentioned in a post recently that the battery on my GP prescribed Accu Chek Aviva lasted about a week, then died. This new battery is doing better. I did register my meter on the web site, and am being sent a new battery, free. Not bad I say.
I get mine on prescription Paul. My GP did say if my HbA1c comes in at 6 or less, I won't get them anymore, so I'm building up my stash of arguments why I should.
I will never understand the price, they are purely scandalous. It's a disgrace!

I had the same problem with the Aviva nano where it was burning batteries, the operator asked if I'd reset the meter to which I replied no, they said to take out the battery tray and hold down the back/forward button on the meter for a few seconds then reinstall the batteries, it worked a treat and not had a problem since.
