To bring up to date:
In a rushed consultation today after local GPs summoned for training( Ebola?) i found that my b s levels had dropped over the last 3 months from 53 to 45 from 97 in April when diagnosed!! Have lost 3- 4 stones in 6 months.I write "roughly" as scales arent a favorite of mine and i use a what clothes fit as a measure, yes not very accurate!!!!! as its more motivating but if you succeed in wearing comfortably something you like but couldnt get into before its an achievement and is uplifting!!!!
Got so bored with the LCMF diet( always searching for new ideas! ESPECIALLY in winter) that i lost control with eggs which i like but determined to check cholesterol levels today to find that despite eating many more eggs, double at least, cholesterol had hugely fallen!!!
Pointed this out to GP who waffled!!!!!
So its press on....i did by the way take up some alcohol in the last 3 months which is now back under strict control, sticking to red wine and the very occasional brandy/whisky.This has made life easier.I also began to eat cheese again and enjoy cottage cheese and v low fat 80% reduced fat cheeses. I have never followed the High Fat variety of the new regime as seeking to lose weight v fast esp in early months after diagnosis.
I have problems with low carb veg both the prep and the selection as have only one good hand at the moment after an op for a badly decompressed ulna nerve.....suggestions for slow cooker veg recipes or stews etc etc always welcome as general chat is...
