I agree with Ann. Carbs are what you need to deal with. White bread, rice, pasta and potato's will spike you if you have them in any kind of quantity. The best solution is to get a meter and test. It's unlikely, but not impossible you will get one from your GP so investing in your own is a good idea. Strips are expensive, however a lot of us have the SD codefree, that you can get from e-bay or Amazon and the strips are around £5 for 50, I have other meters as well, as my GP does prescribe a small amount of strips for me. Test before eating, then 2 hours later, you will soon learn what foods you can tolerate. It is a minefielsd at first, but I promise, it does get much easier.
