Incorrect Measures

Not sure where this one should go as it straddles a lot.

Does anyone out there have a proper set of measuring spoons they use. A UK teaspoon is 5ml a tablespoon is 15ml. If people are relying on their "marked" spoons for measuring and trying to be precise be careful.

I just felt ours seemed wrong but they are all marked up but l had a niggle, so today l dug out a 10ml syringe l brought home from work for hub to measure the disinfectant concentrate with (He runs a biscuit baking business from home)

The tablespoon measure is only able to take 8ml
The teaspoon is about 3.5ml

l know they were a well known make but can not remember who made them or they would have them back along with a rude letter. I am going on a hunt to find a correct set l have a feeling it may take some time.

In the meantime if you do rely on measuring spoons for correct measures beware good chance they aren't..

To be honest isn't a problem the older l have got the more savory. He is an excellent cook and does traditional cakes and various biscuits, l don't feel any urge to eat any of them, when l do it is only a small part broken off as a taster usually on a new line he has asked me to try.

Christmas cake now thats different l love that but other cakes naaa, and bourbon biscuits a mug of coffee = food heaven.....a long time me thinks before l have "food" heaven on earth though )

Carraway l don't mind deeper/shallower/wider or any variation what l want is a spoon when sold as a measured spoon that takes the correct amount.
8ml does not =15ml...legally recognised tablespoon amount in the uk
3.5ml doesnt = 5 ml...legally recognised teaspoon amount in the uk
