Increase in Insulin Sensitivity

Anyone else had a sudden increase in insulin sensitivity? My ratio's have about doubled in three days going from 1:3 / 1:4 to 1:6 / 1:8 depending on the meal?! I am not moaning as less insulin is great but I am eating the same things and doing nothing differently... would be nice to understand why!

Same as you Pneu, my insulin requirements over the last 18 months have reduced despite eating roughly the same amount of carbs per day, I suspect in my case it's partially due to my weight reduction.

Great news and hope your sensitivity continues! :)

you were talking in another post about exercise, could be you are getting fitter? That can make you more insulin sensitive generally too. (aside from hypos from the actual exercise, I mean).

Mine are doing exactly the same over the last week - have reduced my novo rapid by up to 2 units with every meal and as that's not working, I have today reduced my levermir by 1 unit. Same as you, nothing has changed in my diet / fitness regime - extremely odd and frustrating!

maybe I guess I mean I have been doing more exercise over the past six months although that's been generally stable in the amount... it could have just taken some time to kick in I guess or maybe my body has decided to adapt! it certainly hasn't lost any more weight recently! might be worth jumping on the scales at the end of the week see if my metabolism has kick-started its self or something..
