I will be the first to admit that I am not a slave to my type 2 numbers. My last HBA1C was 56 last year and I will take that for a balanced life in my early seventies.

10 days ago I got a virus with temps up to 38.8 for a couple of days but kept testing negative for Covid. I have not been running a temperature for a few days and feel fine.

I fingerprick test 4 times a day. When I get up, late morning, pre evening meal and 2 hours later. My normal average readings would be10, 8, 7 and 9.

However, all readings at present are approx 15, 15, 11 and 15. I have had a couple of 18's and a 20.

My question is, is the level of increase what one could expect with temps of 38.8? and when should it start coming down?

Hi @jim1951
Sorry you have been ill. Viruses always cause me to have erratic blood glucose readings, ( in the teens) and can take up to around six weeks to settle down.
You say your HbA1c was 56 last year. Perhaps it is time to have that annual check now to see what is going on?
If those high numbers continue over the next few days I would recommend getting to the doc to be checked. Or sooner if you feel ill.
