I've been invited on a hen night next month and we're going to an indian restaurant, can anyone recommend what I could eat that is low carb?

Hi Roxanne, look at "low carbing and indian food". Best bet would be chicken tikka or tandoori so not in a carby sauce and avoid rice and breads. Perhaps ask for it to be accompanied by salad or spinach but I must admit that I do allow myself a portion of rice occasionally, we all have to live don't we, Deb xx

Half a cup of Basmati brown rice (cooked) is about 25g of carbs, if you allow for it in your daily total and count it as a one off treat it's tolerable. I do eat some when I eat Indian and since it is eaten with lots of vegetables and low carb stuff it seems not to affect me to much.

My local Indian will cook brown rice if I ask in advance and do me a vegetarian Madras as well. It might be worth asking before you go.
