Hiya,
I am type 1 24 year old diabetic.
I dont have a question as such but i wanted some opinions and advice. I have been travelling for 3 months and picked up a nice yeast infection in Australia, I went to the doctors along the way (most of them were terrible) making me have herpes test (blood and swap which came back negative) and giving me ointment and anti virals etc. The 'rash' was still there and it got to the point were i couldn't shower because it stings so much. I went to the doctors in the US who gave me antibiotics he said the Australian doctors messed me around. He said it was 'ringworm' which my fellow travelling friends enjoyed immensely. It has started to go down and its been 4 days since i took the tablet (the packet says wait 5 days before taking another but i took another this morning). My only concern is is that other small spots keep appearing that haven't been there for the duration (which sting) of the infection and the rash began bleeding slightly this morning (i put this down to me constantly looking at it and wiping it clean etc). As the packet says 5 days i am a little concerned the rash, although going away, has not recovered even 50%. I presume this is because my immune system is rubbish? I have had thrush in the past but never a full on infection like this. Why would i have got this? From the research i got the impression it was because i was run down with the lack of sleep, occasional alcohol and as a result of all the time changes etc and some erratic blood sugars (mainly because my long acting has been so difficult to control). My only other thought was that i washed my boxers in the sink with some cheap detergent which i probably didnt rinse well enough. It soon started after that. Has anybody had the same problem? Its been over 3 weeks now since it all started and it beginning to get me down.
I was also told that if i focus all my energy on the rash (which i have) the stress etc will make it worse ( i am starting to believe this true).
I hope the info is clear?
Thanks all
