What do you use and what problems have you found? I am working my way through the various accuchek products at the moment and have found problems with all of them really.
The needle sets can be painful to insert and sometimes also are painful when in, but they are reliable. I use Cavilon spray as I am allergic to adhesive and for some reason the needle sets hurt a lot more to insert when I have sprayed my skin which is very weird I think.
The soft canullae are sometimes a bit painful to insert, but are generally really comfortable once in. But I find that they are always going wrong. I have been using the flex link mostly over the past few weeks and it is about 50/50 as to whether they will work or not. I get lots of occlusion errors with them, and even worse, no occlusion error but just unexpected sky high bg readings then when I change the set, I will notice that the cannula is bent or something.
I haven't had much success with the angled soft canullae like the tender link but I think that is me not being very good at inserting them.
I have gone back to the straight metal needle sets for now - not as comfortable but at least I am not panicking all the time about whether or not I am getting insulin.
What do you use? What have you found to be good or bad? Do you use insertion devices or do it by hand?
I am typing this so early as I woke up feeling ill and sure enough my bg reading was 27 and when I changed the cannula it was bent. That's the last time I am using the flex link for now - sick of this kind of thing. I had to come home from work early on Monday for the same reason and just don't feel I can rely on the flex link at all which is a shame as it is so comfortable and I also like not having a loop of tubing dangling from it - I like that the link connects straight into it.
