Which infusion set do you use?

I used Inset II and they are spring loaded. I used to have some from Accu Chek which I hated because you had to stick them in yourself. Do they do spring loaded ones now?
 
The Flexlink doesn't have a self contained spring but when used with Link Assist inserter they are so easy to put in. Heaven, beats the Insets and that's saying something as I thought the Insets were brilliant.

In September, a new Flexlink type will be launched that has a 6mm cannula and I think a different sort of teflon that is very thin. Can't wait :)
 
How many mm are they at the moment? Mine are 6mm. I don't like the sound of the link assist I have to say. But, we are all different :D
 
At the moment the Flexlinks are 8mm but you really don't feel them at all going in with the Link Assist. You can put them in manually which I sometimes do if I can't be bothered to get the LA and its not too bad (bit like using a 12mm pen needle). The Link Assist is really good, very easy to use.

I think the new Flexlink Plus will also have a new inserter so be interesting to see what it is like.
 
Firstly, thanks for actually taking the trouble to answer my questions today :D secondly i've never used a 12mm needle, the thought scares me!!! :shock:
 
I've slightly over exagerated the 12mm needle. The introducer is more like the Tenderlink and you've used loads of those :lol: But once you've got the end in, the rest just slides.
 
I don't think i've had tenderlink, can't remember. Are they the angled ones? don't like them :(
 
I use the accu-chek tenderlinks..

I've got the 13mm 45 degree angle one, which I self insert with no problems at all...

Even though the needle sounds very long, you need to remember it goes at an angle though, I find them peferct for me as I'm very slim indeed, so no real fat... 90 degree one's would more than likely hit the muscle on insertion kinking the cannular...

I remeber the rep was going through my choices, and demostrated the link assistant I was put off it big time, the thought of firing a 90 degree cannular into me gave me the real hebee's geebee's...

I think that the tenderlink also comes in a 9mm version, but this would need double checking I know there was a shorter option if I wanted...

Take that back, I've doubled checked, tender link in two size, 13mm and 17mm

The Flexilink, comes in 8mm and 10mm

The D-link, doesn't say what it comes in, only that the actual cannular is one of the finnest at 0.36mm..
 
Agreed the linkassist thing looks and sounds scary...but it is brilliant to use, although it always reminds me of a stapler!

I am allergic to the metals in someof the cannulas, hence my choice. I guess thatthis is why they give us a choice though :D
