Get it removed by a podiatrist, and ask for the nail bed to be destroyed so it does not ingrow again...should I let it grow out or get it removed?

They are supposed to do that but it didn’t work first time around for me.......and ask for the nail bed to be destroyed so it does not ingrow again...
You get what you pay for...They are supposed to do that but it didn’t work first time around for me.
Get it removed. They don’t go away or get any better. I have had to have both my big toe nails removed *
I left one for a long time hoping it would correct itself but it never did. Just gets worse and worse.
* one of them for a second time.
First time around it was done privately through BUPA and not the NHS.You get what you pay for...
I had my first one for a year and a half before getting help. It was bloody and puss-y, and I was just used to hobbling around. Not an option for a T1, I'm sure. I've had about 5 operations on both sides of both my toes in total, might be six though, i lost count at some point... At the hospital they tried burning away the nailbed, but that just made it worse. (My nail was convinced there *should* be a bed there and cut into where it would have been). No such problem when my GP did it though.I’ve never had one before but this just seems like it won’t go! Definitely be getting to the gp ASAP thank you all!

It does help to just get your nails done with a pedicure who's licensed to do diabetic clients. It hasn't happened since. But this isn't something that'll just go away with time. Sorry.
As I said in my first post, go to a podiatrist not your GP to get your toenail fixed properly...thank you so much, I’m definitely going to go to the gp, my doctor said there’s someone who specialises in doing them so it’s deffo the next option. Antibiotics have cleared it up so much but obviously my nails still growing! A right pain. Thank you!
