Today I may be going to a service a distance away from me. I will be traveling by bus for 45 minutes or more. This coincides with the same time as I do a blood test inject and then eat so not easy on a bus, The service is in a Cathedral so again not so easy. WOuld it make a major difference if I did the whole procedure 2 hours later ?

I don’t take fast acting insulin, but as long as you are delaying both food and insulin I can’t see a problem. Hopefully a type 1 can advise.

Personally, I only use a bolus for food and if I have hyperglycemia, if I'm not eating, I don't give myself a bolus injection. On a hungry day, I can only live on basal insulin.

Ok thank you both
will take something to eat on wat to Cathedral after injecting
my BS has been so good recently I dont want to spoil it
I am type 2

curious if your still on fixed unit doses or had advice on correctional dosages. if its a fixed dose it would normally be expected roughly the same amount of carbs consumed for that meal. if your deciding to inject and eat whilst at the service would aim for simular food intake which has worked for you. you could call your DSN to ask for advice, tbh i'd just wait til after the service unless sugar level was a fair bit higher to start with. not sure which type of service your off to, however if wedding / funeral surely there would be some food afterwards :) enjoy your day
