Injection sites for a young child

Hi all

As the post name says really. What injections sites do you use for a small child. My daughter has been having injections in the outer of her thighs for the past six weeks since diagnosis but they are now becoming painful. She hasn't much belly fat or back fat which make these sites hard to inject and she isn't keen on letting us do the back of her arms. Are there any other options, I have injected to the inner underside of her thighs which she finds pain free but our DSN says this isn't recommended.

Any thoughts or tips?

You can inject insulin in the bum.
 
Hi just morale support really my daughter is just 2 and diagnosed in December and I inject in her legs but they are very bruised. I'm not keen to inject in her bum because of her nappy (risk of urine etc). She is going on a pump in 2 weeks so I hope the sites may be a little less painful.
I was 2 when I was diagnosed but in those days the needles were huge. I'm on a pump now but have got scar tissue on my stomach from years of injections. I would rather have used my arms/legs more in hindsight.
Can you tell her that it needs to be done in her arm and count to ten with her? That's what I try to do with my daughter and she knows then it's done?
 
I was always injected into my thighs when i was 2 1/2-9 before I started injecting myself, and I,am sorry to hear another child is a type1, stay away from under the thighs as there are many more viens that could be hit. Try the upper arm and numb it with and ice cube before hand which will help with the sting of the jab
 
My little boy was diagnosed at age 3, last January. He has his novo rapid in outer bum cheeks and his levemir in his upper thighs. I'm having a similar problem with his thighs as he doesn't have a lot of fat anywhere and tends to bruise a lot. Harry has his clinic appt this week so I'm hoping to find a solution too.
 
My daughter has chilled out a lot over injection sites and now finds that rotation is the best way. Thankfully
 
My daughter is 4 and we use tops of the arms, thighs and bum, her belly isn't chubby enough yet
