I am a newbie and a little health anxious.

However, I have always suffered from low grade inflammation but very recently I have been experiencing muscles aches in upper and lower limbs along with twitches a nd joint acheswhen sitting down and lying down. The twitches are under the skin and not fasciculation's but there are disturbing. I have also had crushing headaches. I am Type 2 and last HBA1C was 71 so in a way hoping it is chronic inflammation causing this. Doctors are not concerned and all Bloods and examinations come back perfect. My strength and running is not impeded and can workout fine.

I had to push to get referred to Endocrinologist which is soon. For context last year I was similar and turned out that I had severely low Vitamin D ( 23pg/nmol) so was given boosters. This year I have been given the same as its on the low end of normal, same with B12. Just wondering if this is likely to be T2 related also given Hugh BG?

As your diet has radically changed recently, you are probably low on electrolytes and fluid, especially if you used to have a lot of processed foods which would have been high in salt.
Try increasing salt, just a little on meals and adding in another 2 or 3 glasses of water a day.
Magnesium may help the twitches too.

Thanks, are muscle aches and twitches consistent with high blood sugar? I heard that high sugar causes inflammation?

I notice when my sugar levels have gone high that my legs ache. I usually have to lie down and keep still until I fall asleep otherwise my legs cramp.
I curse myself for eating the cakes and sweets and not putting in enough insulin to compensate. So yes I would agree that muscle aches and twitches are caused by high blood sugar. But maybe this doesn't happento everyone. I've learn't my lesson and now go without rather than have aching and painful muscles.

I agree with the electrolytes. In a wine glass, I put pink Himalayan salt and a teaspoon of cream of tartar (for the potassium) a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and lemon juice and top it up with sparkling water. This stops the headaches, restless legs and fatigue.

@Prince4 Metformin depletes B12, and when taking Atorvastatin and Metformin my muscles were severely weakened plus they seemed to have a life of their own - 5 weeks of tablets after diagnosis and I was in a seriously bad place mentally. Fortunately I threw them in the bin as stuck to low carb so by the time Christmas 2016 was over I was a lot better.

Thanks - I took a B12 shot as it was previously borderline but still feel the same....Maybe a Thyroid issue.

It does for me as well as exhausting me.

To be honest this is causing me much distress. I only started taking 1000mg around 6 weeks and at start of May experienced muscle aches and twitches and am now starting to wonder if this is Metformin/Thyroid related. Had a B12 boost and Vitamin D boosters but not really helping. My DN wants me. to revert to 1500 but scared more than ever. My muscles twitch and shake and have started ti have negative thoughts combined with fatigue.I even cancelled my birthday as I was in such a low mood. I though Metformin could only integer with gastric but seriously concerned now it could be causing other symptoms.

Thanks for advice. Had my electrolytes checked. My Sodium is below 136 NMOL - which apparently means I have a mild recognised deficiency which is know to cause cramps, tiredness and aches. I guess as a consequence of going cold turkey on Salt & Carbs/Sugar......My Chloride was low as well.
