Inspiration Thread

Daisy's latest one - how true, having had 6 major & several minor ops in 4 years, the people I expected to step up to the plate didn't (fear, I believe) and some unexpected people hugely contributed to my recovery.
Pav, I often use a similar analogy in my classes (if it was easy to climb Mount Everest no-one would see the beauty to behold)

That appears to be a very common aspect in many situations in life jules65.
Could be that the one's we assumed would step up to the mark just don't know what to say in certain situations.

I know that a death can cause the same reaction. Some folks cross over the road rather than come face to face
with the bereaved.
I think they feel they cannot come face to face with a bereaved person without mentioning the person's loss,
however they're afraid to do so for fear of upsetting the person concerned.
They're not really doing so out of rudeness or lack of concern. (I hope)

In saying all that, of course, there are some good friends around you when times are good, but when any
perceived inconvenience comes along that could interfere with their daily life, they're off.

Such is life I guess.


As for yourself, sounds like you've had a pretty rough time in the past.

Hope you are much better these days.

These are wonderful.

My 'thing' is music, when I was diagnosed I went through the usual emotions - denial, anger etc. the day I seemed to get it sorted out in my head, this song was on the radio constantly.

It puts a spring in my step and makes me happy.

Don't judge me
