Hi all, wonder if anyone can help? I am.T1 (LADA) and on basal bolus. Yesterday was a kind of celebration day, out for posh lunch then had afternoon tea. I think I got the dosing right for lunch and tea as I didn't go out of range at all. Until 1o.30pm that night when I hadn't eaten since 6pm which was when I gave my last Novorapid. My sugars suddenly shot up to around 15 and took ages to come down. I didn't want to correct as I was worried about hypos. Would it have been the alcohol - white wine, one cocktail at lunch and rum and coke zero x 3 later? That was the only thing that was different about yesterday? My Libre alarmed at 5.30am was 3.6 but soon self corrected so didn't need to do anything. Any advice would be great.

My question would be what was in the lunch. Was there something that slowed down absorption. Did you add in insulin for your cocktail?
Duck pate, small slice sourdough, pickled gooseberries and pickled rhubarb starter, trout, small amount of champ, kale. Then blackberry soufflé of which I only ate half. Dosed 5 units for that and the cocktail, but didn't go out of range at all, in fact I stayed in range all day until10.30 when I had stopped eating hours before. Don't get it!
