Hi
My son is 13, newly diagnosed. We are still trying to get our heads round everything, getting there
I have a question about a subject we don't understand.
We carb count for how much insulin he uses (novarapid before every meal). He has a meal and a desert and we have counted all the carbs and worked out how much insulin he needs. The question I have is, how long does he have to eat his desert? because he panics that he has to finish his meal and eat his desert all within like 10 minutes after his injection.. and I am not informed enough to say otherwise. How does it work ? can he eat a desert and take his time eating it after eating a meal or does he really have to stuff it all down within a certain amount of time? any help is really apreciated
