Hi I'm type 2 using insulin last 12 months. Started using Lantus insulin daily plus tablets continued to lose weight. Ha1c not coming down continued to increase from 61 to 67. GP spoke to specialists hospital and I was put on NovoRapid for evening meal plus to continue with Lantus daily. Now I don't appear to be losing weight. Does the combination of Lantus / NovoRapid cause an increase in weight ? Latest Ha1c 57 first time good result in 2 yrs since hospital for stroke.

Insulin doesn't cause weight gain. Uncontrolled diabetes causes weight loss. It may be that now you have your blood sugar controlled you have stopped weight loss caused by high blood sugars.
