Hi how do people go about using insulin at work what do you have to tell them. The first aid dont know what to do if something goes wrong is there a health and safety issue

I just use it like a do at home.
What kind of things are you considering regarding "something goes wrong"?
I think the most obvious is if you inject too much and have a hypo which the first aiders should know how to handle.

Yes i have a hypo the first aiders thing i need insulin if i go low lol

I sent an email to HR and our first aiders. It contained the line 'you will never need to inject me with insulin
I told them there were glucotabs in my drawer and said if I ever became unconscious to call an ambulance.
I have never had a hypo I cannot treat though.

Before Libre came along - I used to keep an emergency bottle of Lucozade or Coke on my desk and tell my close work colleagues that if they ever found me slumped over my monitor that they have to pour it down my neck.

Fortunately it never happened as I have good hypo awareness and now with regular scans of the Libre I know what's going on pretty much all the time. Although the Libre has showed me dipping below 4.0mmol a few times (actual bloods have always been higher) I haven't had a 'proper' hypo for months now. (I probably shouldn't have said that should I :banghead:)
