It is so hard for other people to know how to get diabetics that are 'rebelling' to change. I had years of rebelling to be quite honest, and it was only thanks to a fantastic customer who was an orthapaedic surgeon who told me that I was killing myself to get me back to looking after myself properly. (Many years ago now).
I wish so much that I could give you a way to get your partner to 'tow the line' with diabetes....have you looked at this site together? or has it just been yourself?
I am sure that others have many experiences of how to handle this. Unfortunately, I am 'that rebellious diabetic' not the caring, loving partner. I don't really know what made me go from being brilliant t0 being ****, only that I was very lucky that I came through it without any complications.
You are obviously very concerned, what has been your partners reactions when trying to talk about it?
