Type 1 Insulin dependant / wanting to move to Denmark

Hi there,

My father is a UK pensioner & wanting to move permanently to Denmark. Does anyone know if he would have to pay for his own medicine? He is type 1 diabetic.
 
Try an ex pat forum perhaps, they will have more knowledge of the rules.

Hello,

I live in Denmark, and I'm just an ordinary student. I get discount because of my student status, but when I graduate i will pay full price for my medicine. I could imagine that your father would do the same :-) unless you are a member of "sygeforsikring danmark". But in order to be that, you have to be a member BEFORE you get diabetes/sick.
If I was you, I would call "borgerservice". They are the experts on the topic.
