insulin dose??

at present i inject 60 units of lantus each morning, then nova rapid 12 to 16 units 3 times daily after eating. although my blood suger ranges between 4.5 and 8.5 before meals and 2 hrs after. i feel concerned about level of lantus dosage although my diabetic nurse and hospital consultant seem happy.. any thoughts

Hi Noggin, welcome to the forum. You'd need to tell us a lot more about yourself before we could really give you any helpful advice. Are you overweight, body shape/frame, height, what your diet looks like, how much exercise you do, etc, and as @noblehead said, are you T1 or 2?

60u of Lantus a day would be considered a lot for some, and not a lot for others. I was on 45u a day up until last summer, so it's not particularly unusual.
