Insulin for Type 2

Hi, I've just joined the forum and am concerned. I have been Type 2 for 11 years and my Consultant told me in March I now need to go onto Insulin. She was leaving it until after Easter. I have lost a stone in weight which is great but my readings are all over the place. How long will it take once I start Insulin to get onto an even keel? Any replies welcome. My husband already injects 5 times a day for Type 2! Lizala

Hi Lizala and welcome to the forum.

It rather sounds like you and your husband have some carbohydrate problems. Perhaps if you can give us an idea of your HBA1C, typical daily readings and the type of food you eat, maybe we can offer some suggestions to help stabilise your BS. Also what medication has your GP tried previously and what success did you have with it?
