Hi all, I took 4 units of insulin this morning at 6.30 then forgot my breakfast (ran out of time at home, packed it for the train then forgot it) just realised I haven't eaten, it's 9.15 and no hypo not even close?!
Thoughts. 4 units is quite a small dose so any overshoot due to lack of food might be manageable? Your background insulin production and/or Basal may have helped. Your liver may have done a panic glycogen release?
4 is small but normal for me, sometimes if I take 5 instead of 4 before a big meal I can have a hypo, which is why I was surprised this morning. Thank you for your thoughts - interesting!!
I know Hale I was reading one of your posts about how much you take - and I thought my doses were small!!! When I was first diagnosed I took 2 or 3 units before meals but it has increased since I left honeymoon period!
