I use OmniPod 5 with NovoRapid. I find that on the third day of the pod, I have to to keep manually bolusing to keep up with rising readings, and wonder if the insulin is less effective on the third day? Reading the instruction leaflet, it says in use store below 30°C, but insulin in a 3 day pod has been at body heat of 38°C or so for that long … (They give some nanny instructions about the cleaning the infusion site when referencing a pump, but don't address temperature) Surely Insulin manufacturers should be developing formulations specifically for pumps at body heat for days?

It’s more likely that the absorption in that site is less effective after a couple of days.. I’ve seen this raised plenty of times.

I’ve had plenty of times when my insulin has gotten hot and not had issues

Store at, and use at temperature are very different, the store at temperature is for maximum life over long term storage ie many month, where store above that temperature it may only last upto 30days or so

I'm a high pod user, sometimes they're okay for 3 days, generally swap 2-2.5 days. Absorption I think, if it were insulin degrading with temperature it'd be more consistent, also insulin & pump manufactures wouldn't be offering a 3 day change cycle.

(Occasionally I've have kept them on for 3.5 days but that's risky)
