Insulin pump for type 2

Hi have been reading up on Pumps, many write ups about type 2 people using pumps.
I like many others are sick of 6 needles a day on top of a seventh injection for my MS. I have always been told that type 2's can't use a insulin pump, what is right, I would love to have that freedom, can anyone help please.
 
Interestingly I've been reading a book called Pumping Insulin by John Walsh & Ruth Roberts, in America pumps are routinely given out to type 2's (although admittedly their health insurance will cover the cost).

I'm not too sure on what circumstances pumps are provided to type 2's patients on the NHS, but I found the following:
