insulin pump with porcine insulin

Hi
I am new to the forum.
I have been type 1 for 40 years and am getting an insulin pump on monday. This might not seem like much to many but i use pig insulin. My diabetic nurse is not keen and i am struggling to remain on it.

is there anyone else out there who pumps with hypurin porcine neitral.

they are concerned about stacking and also about crystalisation - has it been a problem,.

would be keen to get in touch.

I wld like to try animal insulin in pump too but havent been able to persuade anyone yet to let me have it.

Is there anybody on forum that uses it..?

Hi, if you join the ip-uk insulin pumpers forum, there is someone on the list who posts fairly regularly called Rhoda who issuccessfully pumping with animal insulin, it can be done! : http://www.insulin-pumpers.org.uk/discussion/

thanks for the replies. I have had my pump with the porcine insulin for a few weeks now and despite a chest infection causing delays with things settling i have not had a blood sugar above 9.1 so far today - feeling really good about this.
still a bit more practise yet to get all sorted but seem to be getting htere.
