insulin pumps

am type one diabetic on insulin 4 times a day i was wondering how do i go about getting an insulin pump, i was promised one over a year ago but it never happened am getting really desperate for one now . can anyone help me please xx

Hi Tina,

Have you done a Dafne course yet (or similar)?
I know that was something that I had to do before I got my pump.

I started a campaign of phone calls to DSN's every month and I wrote letters to the consultant every 6 weeks or so setting out the reasons why I thought a pump was necessary for me and asking why I was still waiting?
My GP also supported me by writing to the consultant.
I am not normally a pushy person but I had to be to get the pump.I waited about 18 months in the end but that was in 2007.
