Over the last 13 months I have been reducing my insulin usage. March 2015 my dose was 158 units of Humalog 50 twice a day. I worked with my GP and using Bydureon one weekly I have lost over 4 and a half stone. My GP has now retired and I currently take 10 - 12 units a day. The plan is to come off insulin all-together. Has anyone else done this or similar because it is a little bit scary all-though this is what my goal is. Opinions please
Outstanding! What have you done to reduce it? Diet / exercise? Have you had a c peptide or GAD test? Sounds like you are becoming much more insulin sensative and in a short time. What is your diet like?
My diet is ok low carb and no added sugar, but the main contributer is Bydureon which I started March 2015. Now my insulin doest seem to work at all unless I have missed something, so a bit confused and frustrated.
GAD is a test that measures antibodies C peptide measures the amount of insulin your pancreas produces What is bydureon and what is it for?
https://www.drugs.com/pro/bydureon.html I don't think personally that I would use it.but horses for courses.
