Insulin requirements going sky high

Thanks lovinglife , she's now been put on intravenous antibiotics probably for ten days so could be a while still before she's home where we might be having to make some mods stair lift maybe ,when we both retired 6 yrs ago we had so many dreams , life can be a ***** sometimes .
 
Apologies @jaywak, just realised I misread your post, it’s still a positive though yes life can turn on a sixpence and floor you. But keep hope, your wife sounds like a fighter
 
When my father got ill he moved in with me, and I found out it would take months to get a stairlift funded and installed. So then I found out there are companies installing second hand stairlifts for a reasonable amount of money and we got one within 10 days, even though my stairs are of unusual measures.
No idea how things are in the UK, but if official routes are too slow, it may be worth it to see if some smart guys have jumped in this gap.
 
Life is tough sometimes.

It’s good that your wife is nearer to home. Perhaps that will give you a chance to improve your control a bit, but don’t beat yourself up over it.

Hopefully you have already been put in touch with occupational therapists who can help with what adaptations can be done in your home.

I really just wanted to say are you aware macmillan has a similar forum to this for cancer patients and their relatives. It might help you to connect to others in your position watching loved ones going through cancer treatment and coping with that.
 
Yes thanks Lakeslover we have been in touch with several cancer charities over the three years since Tinas original diagnosis and Tina has talked about helping them herself , I think it was 2 years ago she raised about £600 doing 10000 steps a day for cancer research and that was while she was going through chemo , she is a strong old bird and I am so proud of her .

Oh yes she's a fighter all right .
 
Just thought I would let my forum pals know that my lovely wife Tina passed away last Tuesday after her three and a half year fight with cancer 64 years old and we had so many things planned , its only been a week but boy do I miss her she was my rock and knew me for the 50 yrs that I had type 1.

So sorry to hear this. Go easy on yourself at this very sad time.
