Sometimes I find myself in an lchf echo chamber on my You Tube feed so its good to see what others are saying but I find that the LcHF seems to reference much more science and does not have an animal rights agenda or a 'purity' complex. Both sides mainly agree on eating non processed foods and low sugar though + plenty of green veg if not the fruit.Hey all thanks for you answers , I still get nervous sometimes if I am doing the right thing eating that much fat and so on, this high-fat low carb is still very contradicting to what I have been told over the years , so when I see people talking against it I start daubting this strategy, you know all the talk of cancer when eating very much bacon and that people live shorter lives when eating high amount of red meat ...
And are we okay just because our blood glucose is in a normal range and what happened to the advice of eating High fibers and lots and lots of Vegs and fruits

Our friend Cyrus did not try to highlight that for most low carbers the cholesterol goes down, with better HDL and Trigs (especially the ratios), a small percentage get increased LDL but it is not clear if this is mainly large and fluffy or the not so good smaller subset - very quiet he was on this. And in any event the cholesterol question is not proven. Also very quiet on the protective nature of cholesterol in particular in older women (this also stumped a WFPB panel discussion I recently watched (sorry don't have the reference to hand)). Cyrus didn't explain why some low carbers who get a CAC scan obtain a zero score, effectively being given a 10 to 15 year virtual bill in health in this area.thank you dear for your fine answer, well yes it seems that low carb keto style also works for providing glucose to the brain as well.. in most people at least, there could be genetic differences form different parts of the world, in Greenland where most of the food was amimal and seafood mainly, they might have genes that provides a better convertion to keto production.
But now pressently there must be so many doing the keto-diet lifestyle on long term that is would be possible to do statistic on the keto diet from now on, it ought be put to start soon, but who will do this kind of long term statistic if not we or Diabetes.co.uk .. there is no money in the praise of very low carb diet for most companies niether food companies of medical companies

Since Friday, as I said I have been on a course. I have been in the normal range throughout. On Friday I had a packed lunch (low carb of course) and in the evening from a street stall, Jerk Chicken, Peppered Steak and Curry Goat, with nothing else. On the Saturday I returned to OMAD and from the same stall got a a large Jerk Chicken x 2 and Curry Goat, this was the most meat I have ever eaten in one sitting - the next morning my FBG was 4.8 (I didn't do any exercise the day before at all). Just before my class I went for a 15 minute walk which dropped my BG to 4.3. At lunch time I did a weights workout and obtained a 3.7 BG. So having consumed a massive amount of meat over 2 days I obtained with less of my normal workout protocol one of my lowest BG measures within a 24 hour period.
Cyrus....I will not be joining your ranks. Stating that Keto very diet / lifestyle which reverses the list of conditions he detailed is upside down. There are plenty of LCHF / Keto and similar who have eaten this way for well over 5 years, persons like Volek and Phinney, Eric Westman, Jason Fung, Sarah Halberg...so many have clients who have eaten this way for years - surely if there was a cliff it would have been found by now, as this has been used, by young old and sports people. He should be careful to throw stones, I have stopped off at a Harvester and got the Kilo ribs (scraped off the excessive sauce), with brocolli and mushrooms. I would suggest he looks a little closer to home to start his criticisms and provides answers as to why many parts of the world who have long lived persons eat meat, fish and dairy - I believe Iceland is considered the best diet to health population, you can guess the type of food mix. Of course it is up to all of us the choices we make.

I believe that for some, diary can increase insulin resistance, and do advocate that where possible the quality of the protein should be as high as economicaly viable.
A film I have watched recently although I think its been around for a while is "The Perfect Human Diet" it is somewhat of an eye opener and I found it very interesting I could not find a free version on you tube but it is available to rent on there and on Amazon I can not find it on netflix though.
But it reduces IR Ironically.If you go low carb and low fat you will very quickly become hungry, weak and miserable. Beleive me, I've been there and it ain't no picnic.
I am not sure, I can just remember seeing some posts on the site. I know Eric Westman removes milk on his "No Starch No Sugar" Keto regime, due to the lactose, but he is happy with heavy crème and I think 2 tablespoons of full fat yogurt, 4 oz of cheese (from memory).thank you which kind of diary do you think I should avoid then ?
I agree to an extent. The "Whole Food Plant Based" advocates seem to not be happy with Vegetarians or Vegans, as there method is effectively "clean" so items such as Oreo's are out; and of course they don't buy into the standard American diet, similar and definitely nothing which has animal proteins. Absolutely no point in reducing IR if you are so weak that you can't leave your bed any longer than it takes to use a commode! Quality of life even in the short term is paramount.But it reduces IR Ironically.
Very useful idea, for me.but broccoli is cruciferous, which I generally avoid for the same reason, Mr. Thyroid. (I make exception for cabbags in borsht)
You can always cook in iron pans. I am even thinking of taking an iron test in case I have an overload since I do. Long time practical doc told me to never take iron supplements, that I would get adequate just cooking in cast iron.

I was thinking of trying to get back to the start (via bariatric surgery) and starting again. Only eating certain foods whilst I'm not distracted by hunger.
This is my only chance to put right what my parents damaged. Healthy eating and control with wisdom of damaging foods. If I get this wrong I only have myself to blame.
