Pre should normally sort things by diet. Drugs and the side effects are not good.

What are your thoughts about metformin for pre-diabetics??

I think it's another option for those not able or willing to make lifestyle changes that can keep their levels safe. Metformin has only been licensed for prediabetes in the UK a short while and is mainly prescribed to those on the borderline to type 2 who are starting to develop complications.

At first I was cynical about medicating prediabetes but like type 2, all options should be given with the positives and negatives by HCP's working in partnership with their patients.
