Hi. I have been diagnosed with insulin resistance. Any tips and help appreciated please. Also the best blood glucose test kit to purchase please. Many thanks

A low carb diet (or at least a reduced one) is the way to go. Add some exercise and you may never become truly diabetic. Start by cutting out all the obvious sugar from your diet and definitely test your blood sugars. I can't advise on test kits, because my husband was one of those rare and lucky T2 diabetics given infinite and everlasting supplies by his GP (we put it down to an administrative error!)
Do read up on low carb diets, there's lots on this forum and the DietDoctor.com is a good source.

Hi. I've started low carb diet and take regular exercise. Hoping I'll get a test kit from GP once I get final diagnosis and treatment plan. Thanks for the advice.

You are highly unlikely to get a test kit from your GP. These days only insulin dependent diabetics and some others on particular medication seem to get them. (But no harm in asking). Many of us use the Codefree from here

If you buy the strips in bulk there is a generous discount.
The discount codes are
5 packs 264086
10 packs 975833

Fab thanks for advice. My GP is fantastic and I have a good relationship with them. I also live in Wales with free prescriptions so hopefully I'll get one or at least the strips etc.
