hello i am new to the site and i am helping you can give me some information.

my son is 11 and has been type 1 since the age of 2, he has recently gone on the multi injection regime and it has been going great but recently he is experiencing alot of hypos and the medical team seem to think he is insulin sensitive????? i have no idea what this means can anyone give me any information.
thanks

Hello joanncb,

This simply means that your son is currently needing less insulin than the doctors would usually expect for someone of his age, sex and weight.

Any recent drop in insulin requirements is most likely down to the improved diabetic control
since your son's change to a basal/bolus regime.

All the best,
timo.
