Hi,
I'm off to spain at the end of september for a week and I've realised the accommodation is without a fridge, will it make such a difference.I use insulatard if its relevant.
I know I had this situation a few years ago but for the life of me cannot remember what i done! :)

Hi,
Insulin needs to be kept within certain temperatures, the box will have these marked on it. You may be able to ask for a room fridge for medication as some places will supply one free for this purpose. Other than that, just get a bag of ice from a store (or the bar, if you ask nicely!) to keep it cool in the sink. You'll have to wrap the cartridge though as insulin will not work after it has been frozen.

Hi Jimmy,
An alternative to the ice is to get yourself a Frio bag. These are specifically designed to keep insulin cool. Some chemists sell them but you can buy them direct from the manufacturers

I travel quite a lot and use mine regularly.

Hi,
thanks for the info guys, it seems its ok as long as kept below 25c and if they are having the same summer in spain that we are then its no problem :)
