Insulin

Plz can anyone help me.i use Novorapid and lantuse.some times when I use the lantuse at night I take 75 and it's stings.does it do it to anyone else.or do u know how to stop it from happening

That's quite a high dose so may be better split in to two jabs and may sting less, bu can't promise. The max I inject is 5 units and normally 3 so not experiencing stings.

Perhaps someone with larger doses may respond..

Hi,

Lantus. Try not to use it straight from the fridge. It can sting if too cold.
Use a fresh needle on every "jab". Pinch up the skin. Whilst injecting don't rush the dose. Steady & slow pushing the "plunger" down.. Always rotate the injection sites...

Hope this helps?!

Hiya I have them all in the fridge but the ones I use is in the cupboard.i use fresh needle every time.i don't pinch as I got to much fat lol.while I'm injection I try to go slow.and I always rotate.thanks for answering me

No worries.

Give the pinch a go on your next jab anyhow.. There's no harm in trying?!

Yes. Even when very lean and no fat, lantus can sting even on a much smaller jab! I can't imagine what a larger dose must feel like!!

Have you (by the way) ever discussed Tresiba U200 or U 500 insulin with a consultant or any stronger insulin?

It would enable smaller doses as its double strength for u200 and 5 times strength for the u500.

Jyst a thought that may help?? X
