Insulin

Your diabetes nurse could probably give you a better idea but anecdotally it took mine a month.

But I’m type 1, I don’t have insulin resistance to deal with & I self fund a libra.

What kind of numbers are you seeing?
How many carbs is low carb & do you have regular check in’s with your nurse so they can advise you on increases?

I'm Type 2, my blood sugar is anything from 8 upwards, no carbs and I do my own blood sugar levels four times a day.

Hi Marjorie, I know you are saying you have no carbs but it would help people if you listed a typical days food. I know there are differences in the types but generally speaking, insulin (once the correct(ish) doses are being administered tends to work immediately for many. BUT, as said above other things may prevent it from doing so. x

As well as examples of daily meals, what kind of insulin regime did they start you on? That might offer some clues.

Is it mixed (long & short acting) & injected twice a day?
Just long acting injected once or twice?
Or is it multiple daily injections with long acting basal & short acting bolus before food?
