Anyone had any bother with insurance premiums going up after diagnosis?

I have car insured through Tesco and bike insured through Rampdale and neither have increased premiums mid-term, be interesting to see what happens come renewal time though.

Also am i right in thinking that with type 2 diet only you dont have to inform the DVLA, even for an HGV licence?

Hi Hooly,

Insurance questions crop up all the time. Here's a link that should answer all your questions.

Also found this regarding when you need to inform the DVLA.

Thankfully my HGV is safe, at least until my age 45 medical

I've just had my letter back from DVLA regarding HGV & PSV, I don't have a scanner but it says:

Whilst on diet no change to ordinary or vocational licence.

If treated by tablets ordinary licence not affected, vocational licence wiull be reviewed.

If treated by insulin ordinary licence reviwed and debarred from holding a vocational.

If I can find someone with a scanner, I'll get it scanned in so you all have thre official wording.

Hmm, not happy with them, tried them on my own forum first and they where much clearer
I'll try again later

Hopefully this should be better, I normally use photobucket but its not letting me display full width here, done as atchment insted :D Un fortunatley you can't preview the attchment first.

Thanks cameraman, i'm not bothering telling them as i had a run-in with them before when they tried to medically review me every 3 years when i went onto BP medication....had to get about three letters from my doc stating that i was less of a risk than people who hadn't been near their gp in years and yet merrily hurtle down our highways and byways without a care in the world :)

No worries, I know what you mean as I was put on annual renewal for nearly 10 years because I have sleep apneao, then without warning they just put me on 5 yearly again despite no change in condition

I just figured it was better to tell them before they found out as I have my 50th birthday medical soon
