Hi All
I am newly diagnosed with Type 2 (February 2016) I have reduced my HbA1c reading from 109 to 50 by losing 3 stones (confirmed yesterday) through diet and exercise. My nurse has recommended that I start Metformin to help me maintain my levels which seems reasonable, my question is what are peoples experiences with insurance companies etc when you start taking medication for diabetes does it increase premiums significantly? I was told that if I take Metformin all my future prescriptions would be free which seems a nice pirk. Are there any other hidden costs of having diabetes?
Thanks
Steve
