I have just done a search on this and couldn't find anything to help. I have the problem of intermittently being too hot and sweating all over, including my arms and backs of my hands and face. I don't however sweat overmuch in the usual places like armpits. This happens as much in winter as in summer. I am trying to find the cause so that I can do something about it. It could also be nerves. My levels are good and I don't think that diabetes is the cause. I am now thinking that it's coffee that is doing it. Before trying cutting it out which will be well nigh impossible for me, I wondered if anyone else had found coffee caused this problem? Or does anyone else have any ideas about what might cause this?

Thank you very much for the links Catherine :)
From reading them it looks like the causes are indeed coffee, and/or also other drinks containing caffeine, and anxiety. I'm going to find it very difficult to give up both of them

Hi Daisy,

There are some good makes of decaff coffee and I prepare it for guests if I have run out of caffeine coffee. They don't know the difference. Can you get Carte Noire in Switzerland?

DAISY: reading your entries to the forum just lately, you seem to have been under a certain amount of stress and that may be the cause of your intense bodily heat. Hope you can soon find a way out of the problems causing it and chill out - literally :) If we had a hug in the smilies I would send you a load!
Thank you Catherine for your suggestion. We can get Carte Noire coffee in France where we go shopping at least once a week as it's just around the corner so I will try it. It's on the shopping list now.

Mary - thanks for your nice words. I am particularly stressed at the moment by building works right opposite us so that hopefully will be more or less finished at the end of the year or am I being too optimistic? I will try and be a bit more chilled out if I can manage it. I have had this problem since before the building started though but I have always been an anxious type of person.

Hiya, CC you're AMAZING ....! I guzzle coffee during the day, as with being on victoza cant / dont eat much so as you guess the coffee keeps me going. I do try to limit myself with this but with being so wacked out with fatigue high BS,underactive thyroid, vitaminD deficiency cant win eh! coffee keeps me going. Daisy its just an idea if you drive ? is there somewhere you can drive to where its peaceful / quiet to destress and relax , take a flask of coffee  give your poor head a rest from all the racket from the building work .[I am lucky I can just take out my hearing aid] Then return towards end of the builders day when they finish. As I say just an idea. Anna.x :)

Thanks for the idea Anna. I too think it would be simpler to remove the hearing aid I haven't got  But I have got some ear plugs which I had forgotten about so I'll see if I can find them :)
