Hello! I have just been diagnosed woth GD at 36 weeks. I did a GTT test at 28 weeks that consultant said I passed however had to do another one at 36 based on a urine sample and failed that one. I have been put on Metformin 3 times a day and have to test my levels 5 times a day - before each meal, after one of the meals (either breakfast, lunch or dinner) and before bed. I always pass the before meals but the after meals are always high. Is it normal to focus on the before meals reading as opposed to after meals? I am still trying to understand GD but I thought it was the after meals (so what my body does with the sugar that I though they would be interested). I have read some of the posts and they have been really helpful so so glad you guys are here.
Thank you!
Lauren

Thank you so much for the very quick and very helpful reply. My before meal readings are general all within the correct range where the after are always high so will revisit this. I have a appointment with consultant on Tuesday so will discuss it then.
Thank you again!
Lauren
