I Have Had Type 1 For 16 Years I Was 11. I Had Infection After Infection. At One Point The Doctors Said Do You Not Like School? Even Though They Had Proof In Front Of Them Saying I Had A Chest Infection. They Then Referred Me To A Child Psychologist And Tried Saying It Was In My Head! When I Was Finally Diagnosed As I Lost 1 Stone In 1 Week! My Blood Was 18.8 So Was Rushed To Hospital. I’ve Had A lot Of Problems With My Diabetes Eg. Not Being Under Control, Picking Every Bug Up Going!! I Also Had Pneumonia 2 Times Last Year July And Then December. Both Required Ambulances As I Had Ketoacidosis And Sepsis. Both Times! And As I’m Writing This Now, I Have Pneumonia Again! This Time Spotted Symptoms Early And Got 2 Weeks Of Antibiotics And Steroids If I Really Need Them! I’m On Day 7 Of The Antibiotics And I Have Now Had To Take The Steroids Too. I Did The DAFNE Course Last Year And It’s Absolutely Brilliant! I Would Recommend It To Everyone! I Also Got A New Meter And It’s Amazing You Put How Many Carbs In Your Having And If Your Blood Sugar Is High It Will Work Out The Dose For You! It Also Has An Illness Setting On It Which I Have Been Using And Also Stress And Exercise. It’s My Saviour!!
