Hi, my names alan and I live in Chesterfield in Derbyshire.I'm 65yrs old and was diagnosed with type2 about 5yrs ago.It came as a shock having just came back from working in the middle east for 10yrs and what I thought was fit and healthy.I,ve been struggling with trying to get below 7 since changing over to slow release Metformin 4x500mg per day.But I stopped drinking alcohol about 6wks ago and know i'm 4.2-5.4,I now its early days yet and I still miss my glass (or 2) of red wine but I feel better in myself and look and feel better.I,ve also lost around 5kilo in weight. At the moment I still have the feel good factor and about getting this under control because its also brought my blood pressure down to an exceptable level anyway having just found and joined your site keep up the good work and thank you for all the good advice.

Hi Alan and welcome, great news on your improved BG readings, I am fairly new on here but people are incredibly helpful, keep asking questions is the best way forward, cheers Mark
