Iron supplement safe?

Hi. In my topic a little while ago, hale talked about iron store level. Thanks, hale.

I used to take multivitamin tablets with iron tablets before I was diagnosed with type1. I stopped taking them as Im not sure what effect they might have on my sugar level.

Is it ok to take them? They are just from boots, not prescribed.
I'm sure they are fine, but just needed reassurance really.
