Hi I was diagnosed with type one diabetes in 1989 at 2 an half years old and over the last few years i have complained to my specialists about the sensations in my feet and legs (which often feel like extreme burning) for almost 2 years. All they do is test my toes and refuse (both GP and Diabetic Specialists) to offer any additional help. Has anyone else experienced these irregular pains and if so any suggestions to help. I should mention i moved onto Nova Rapid 2 years ago, which seems to cause incessant itching and an insulin pump about 6 months, (shame they don't offer the medisense Paradgim with the CGM as it would help with the test strip issue some people are having on their prescriptions), and can see no relation to hyperglycemia! I feel i should mention i'm only 26 and have had HBA1C's averaging around 12/13 mmol from 16-24yrs old. Having recently been diagnosed with psoriasis on my lower legs, knees and elbows (which seems to spreading rapidly) i am more than a little worried being in an area of the country that favors amputation. Also does anyone know if psoriasis is a side-effect to nova-rapid as i can find a relation to when it began and strangely enough it does coincide with when i started taking that insulin. If anyone else has had this problem with skin irritations and neuropathic pain please comment as i have had diabetes for almost 90%+ of my life so far and not experienced anything like it. My gp says stress is the cause of the skin irritations but i notice flare ups before extreme neuropathic pain.
