Irregular Shift Work Patterns

Hi Standerz, I don't work shifts but I do travel abroad a lot and have to cope with jetlag and time shifting. I would say, try to eat at 3 to 4 hour intervals, eat low carb food such as good quality protein (chicken, fish, eggs, beef) salads or veg that you can stomach cold (if you are having to have packed food) such as carrots, tomatoes. Drink plenty of water. If you have to snack try a piece of cheese or slice of ham, they are quick and satisfying. Hard boiled eggs are pretty good snack foods and come in their own handy packaging :). Avoid too much pasta, rice, potatoes and bread if you can as they will raise your blood sugars and make you feel lousy. Only my oppinion.
