Type 2 Is a small soreen lunch box loaf ok as a snack

Think you would need to check your bg levels after. Just looked it up on myfitness pal and it says the 95g original lunchbox loaf has 19g carb which is an awful lot.

Nigeowl, I'm saying its really high in carbs so probably not the best snack to have. Im fairly new diagnosed and I think you will get lots of good advice of what to snack on by other members of this forum.

I'm type1 but couldn't resist answering... (It's also known as "malt loaf"?)

I treated a severe hypo with a slice of this stuff once... & bounced back "with the brightness of a thousand suns"..!
My basal couldn't deal with it.. & had to "bolus rage" to bring it under control...

If you think of malt loaf as being like the same weight of Mars Bar you won't be far wrong. So, yeah, not really diabetic food except for hypos.

how about raspberries, blueberries, 85% chocolate, nuts, pork scratchings

Oh and if you like strawberries take a small pot of double cream and a few strawberries with you.

What did you used to have in your packed meals? There may be more there that can be kept on the "Yes" list.

Thanks for the help I'll get my head round it it's a mine field things look ok then u see it full of sugar n carbs

We see the sugar &'carbs... I once worked for a food retail chain. I was putting out stock in the chiller once & found out what a minefield it is if a customers faith means they have to omit certain foods from the diet..
I saw the carbs in a pasta salad. Brilliant, no pork... But this one guy couldn't eat it because the vinegar in the recipe was made with alcohol...
