Fasting BG measurements have been getting lower since the day I started taking my pills, which is good. From about 110 mg/dL (6.1 mmol/L) to 74 mg/dL (4.1 mmol/L) today. I've been eating basically the same things in the same amounts so I don't think it's the food. For instance, yesterday I had scrambled eggs with broccoli, a salad and a greek yoghurt for dinner at about 7pm. I din't eat anything else after, I fell asleep. The pill I take daily contains 850 mg of metformin and I will start taking it twice a day next Thursday. I'm afraid that I might experience hypoglycemia episodes unless I eat more to compensate. Good news as well is that I've lost 5 kg (11 lbs) in one week so far. Possibly excess liquids.

Those sounds like pretty "normal" blood sugar levels so your diet and some fasting and your medication look to be working as they should be. Carry on monitoring what your blood sugars do over the next few days and if you stay at these levels maybe try and talk to your doctor about not increasing the metformin dose? If you are like me then the change in what you are eating and not eating so often will probably be having a greater effect than the medication.
