Viagra, Cialis & Levitra can be prescribed on the NHS if the patient has any of the following: diabetes kidney failure requiring dialysis kidney transplant multiple sclerosis Parkinson’s disease polio prostate cancer removal of the prostate gland (prostatectomy, including men who have had a transurethral resection of the prostate) radical pelvic surgery severe pelvic injury single-gene neurological conditions spinal cord injury spina bifida. I have spinal cord injury due to a disc prolapse caused by a congenital deformity of my L5 lumbar bone & have been on "free" NHS medication for ED for about 10 years (long before I was diagnosed as diabetic). I was first prescribed Viagra, but found it to be a bit inconvenient (it has to be taken about an hour before an erection is required & its effect lasts only about 2 hours). Viagra also gave me severe headaches. I asked to try Cialis & find that it is more effective & more convenient. Though it is still best to take it about 1 hour before an erection is desired, the effects of the Cialis last much longer. In my case, the Cialis takes about 48 hours for its effects to wear off. The headaches are much less severe too. It is important that people understand that the above mentioned medications DO NOT trigger an erection in themselves; mental & (possibly) physical stimulation are also required. Fortunately that means that I am not stuck with an erection for 48 hours after taking Cialis!
